In most circles these are called “cowboy toothpicks”, but in ours they’re doNut PokerZ.

The Wst3Lnd Series doNut PokerZ are an uber aesthetic multi-functional tool for all your pastry pokin, teeth picking, whatever else you can think of pokey needs.

Each one is individually hand forged in our studio in East Tennessee. We start with a thick piece of copper, twist it by hand, then shape the end to a point. The other end is slightly flattened before adding a bezel for the glow.

After a nice sanding, they are polished by hand to have a slightly matte, slightly shiny finish. 

Once the copper is finished our proprietary glow material is added to the bezel, set, and tested before calling it done.

We have intentionally left these a little rugged with marks and a non-mirror polish. It’s how we imagine they would look if made in a post apocalyptic Wst3Lnd.

The copper is also left raw and unsealed, so your poker will start to patina with use and time.

If you decide you don’t like the patina, you can polish it using something like FlitZ or Brasso to bring back a little shine (or a lot).

You can also seal it to keep it from getting a patina at all.

We do not recommend using nail polish to do this, regardless of what you’ve heard. It will quickly start to peel and look nasty. The same is true for common brush on sealers like Polycrylic or clear coat sprays.

We recommend using a wax based sealer instead. Our favorite is actually FlitZ Knife & Gun Wax (not the polish). It works extremely well, and can be for used other things we all seem to have around too.

Renaissance Wax is our other recommendation, we just don’t like it quite as much as the FlitZ. Whatever you choose won’t last forever, and will need to be reapplied every 6 months to a year or so depending on how much poking you’re doing.
